DESCRIPTION: APW - Rockford, Grade 520, 21J, 16S, 14K gold HC recase with spectacular engine turning and engraving detail, upper rear with small lakeside home scene, front shield with initials, gold cuvette with 1902 presentation, Montgomery white enamel DS dial, SW-LS, mvt marked "RG" denoting railroad grade, wavy sunburst pattern nickel damascene, s#577866. Gross weight of assembled watch 61.0 dwt (94.9 g). A notably beautiful gold case, with exquisite engraving detail in essentially as-new condition. The Rockford Grade 520 movement is scarce to rare with a total production of only 600 made.
CONDITION: Mvt: Running, good setting function though setting lever shifts in and out quite stiffly, virtually mint cosmetic mvt condition overall, bright lustrous surfaces with few minuscule micro-fine scratches; nearly flawless dial with minuscule pinpoint flake at upper right perimeter of seconds-register, pinpoint as-made dark spot near the 18 minute hash mark; fine hands, minute with finish loss to its tip; case shows no wear, mild short fine scratch to lower portion of front engine turning detail, no exterior dents or dings, mild dent to right perimeter of cuvette, exquisite crisp engine turning and engraving detail; tight bow, crown shows hardly any wear; good glass crystal.
